FRODSHAM Patchwork Group celebrated its 20th anniversary with a display of members’ work.

About 40 crafted quilts made up last weekend’s colourful showcase at Frodsham Community Centre, which included a tribute to former member, Angela Patton, who died earlier this year.

The last quilt she had been working on was completed by fellow members and became the prize in a raffle held throughout the two-day show – and the £700 it raised was donated to one of Angela’s favourite charities, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.

Creations submitted by patchworkers from a French exchange group were also included in the exhibition which included trade stalls selling specialist fabrics and equipment.

Group treasurer Barbara Malan said the event was well supported and £300 raised by entrance fees and a tombola would help the 40-strong group pay for guest speakers and demonstrators.
