Ever wondered what the role of High Sheriff of Cheshire was all about?

The best people to ask at the moment are the pupils of Cotebrook Pre-School who have been visited by William Holroyd, the current High Sheriff of Cheshire.

Mr Holroyd arrived in full regalia and explained to the staff and children the tradition of the outfit and the role.

He was questioned by the children about his sword and told them the Queen gave it to him.

Then the civic dignitary sat and listened with the children during story time before watching the youngsters practising their singing and dancing and staying for snack.

The High Sheriff has been influential in facilitating the relocation and the growth of Cotebrook Pre-School.

Owing to help from the Holroyd Trust, the pre-school has been able to grow from strength to strength, increasing its numbers and offering sessions across five days.

Cotebrook continues to grow with generous donations coming in from parents and this week the pre-school has been given a donation of electrical equipment and resources by local company BARE Electrical.
