MEMBERS of the Crewe Male Voice Choir are warming up their vocal cords for a concert in aid of a Northwich charity.

Money raised by the performance next weekend will go to The Joshua Tree appeal.

The Valentine's-themed concert is at The Grange School, Hartford, on Saturday, February 17, from 7.30pm.

Lynda and David Hill, of Redgate, Northwich, set up the charity after their son Josh was diagnosed with leukaemia. It aims to open a £500,000 holiday home and support centre for ill children with cancer and other serious illnesses that prevent them from going out and doing everyday activities due to their high risk of infection.

They need to raise about £100,000 and

Tom Davies, Northwich Town Mayor, who is helping organise the concert and said: 'The Joshua Tree is my charity for my term of office and it has been great to see how much money has already been raised by many kind individuals and groups.

'My sincere thanks go to Grange School for including The Joshua Tree as one of its charities to support this year. Many thanks also to Caroline Barker of Barclays Bank, Northwich, for organising a themed day at the branch to sell tickets for this event. I would also like to thank Northwich Glass for sponsoring the evening. I know the Hill family are so appreciative of everyone's support.'. nFor more details, visit or call Lynda Hill on 01606 781777.
