Chester’s answer to East Asia’s bubble tea is quenching the thirst of staff and children at Claire House Children’s Hospice in preparation for creating their own themed tea.

Bloop Bubble Tea, based on Frodsham Street in Chester city centre, donated variations of the weirdly wonderful drink for the staff and children to sample, before going away to start concocting a blue or pink Claire House themed tea, inspired by the charity’s brand colours, with all profits being donated to the hospice.

Owner of the shop Kala Krishnan, said: “I was talking to Claire House and thought it would be nice to do something special. I’ve been experimenting to create something especially for the hospice and dedicate it to the children.”

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life. The hospice puts children at the centre of everything, giving parents the chance to be parents while the expert care team provides support to the family.

Sticking with the pink and blue theme of Claire House, the flavours of the tea have got to be just right to suit the colours, especially as Bloop Bubble Tea does not want to use any artificial flavours or colourings to achieve the desired colours.

Kala added: “The flavours are something we have to play around with because we want to identify with Claire House and get the feeling right. So far we’ve been trying out various combinations, but may decide to bring in a new special flavour unique to Claire House.”

Bloop has also recently just launched its barista coffee range and 20% profits from coffee sales will also be donated to Claire House.
