AFTER eight months out of work on the dole, Luke Arnold from Chester has scooped a dream job as a director of a holiday company.

Luke, pictured, thought his future in the commercial property business was fairly secure when he started a master’s degree at Liverpool John Moores University. The crash came after he graduated in April 2009 when he couldn’t find any work.

The 23-year-old spent eight frustrating months looking for work, but was then lucky enough to land a job as a company director of Simply Croatia www.simply-croatia.co.uk, a specialist travel agency offering adventure, sailing andŠcultural holidays to Croatia.

“Like all the best job interviews, it all started in the pub,” said Luke. “I met a guy who had an idea to start the business who needed a partner. Now, three months later, we’re open for business – and I own a good percentage of it.”

“The first thing my business partner did was send me down to Croatia to have a look, and I fell in love with it,” added Luke, who is now the firm’s business development manager.

“What we want to do is help other people get the most out of what is one of the world’s most beautiful countries. Whether people are looking for action and activities, first-class sailing, experiencing history at first hand, expanding their cultural experiences or simply want to chill out in a high-class hotel or spa, we have developed the contacts to give people a truly enjoyable experience.”
