A MAN who breached a restraining order banning him from using social networking sites has been given a conditional discharge.

Scott Simpson, 20, had been forbidden from using websites Facebook and Tagged for 10 years after serving a 12-month jail sentence for sending sinister online threats to his girlfriend.

But Chester Crown Court heard how Simpson, of Sussex Road, Upton, had been witnessed by friends and family members accessing sites between October 2011 and April this year, although it was established that it was for ‘perfectly normal reasons’.

Simpson, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was given a conditional discharge by Judge David Hale, who warned him: “You know how to live your life without accessing these websites and the reason that the order was made was really quite serious.

“Do not think you will get away with this again.”
