PUPILS were toasting their success at Tarporley sixth form after they outperformed the school’s expectations and targets.

Staff praised the outstanding year of results with 37% of grades awarded were A and A*s.

There were many outstanding achievements including Ryan Roberts who gained 3 A* grades, Holly Dean who achieved an A*, A*, A and will be going to study graphic and communication design at Leeds University, Emma Parker who gained A*, A, A, A, A and will pursue her interest in pharmacy at Cardiff University. Jacob McClellan who was awarded A*, A, A, B, and will be studying Geophysics at Imperial College London. Rachael Nicholas who achieved A, A, B and will study marketing at Liverpool University, Bethan Rainford was awarded an A*, A, A. Hugh Mercer who gained A*, A, B, B and will attend Nottingham University to study biochemistry.

Congratulations also go to Tom Metcalfe who was awarded A*, B, B and will pursue his talents at Media Production at Northumbria University, Hannah Freeland who gained A, B, B and will study criminology and psychology at Liverpool John Moores and Rosie Gregory who achieved A, B, B and will study psychology at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Jason Lowe, Director of Sixth Form said: “Today has been an absolute pleasure for us here at school”, “They have been an outstanding year group who have not only developed academically during their time here at Tarporley, but also personally, as individuals. Our students have contributed so much to the life of the school and to the local community, and are frequently praised for their mature approach, their teamwork and their leadership. Today is a fitting reward for all their hard work, supported by their families and the dedicated staff at the school. I would like to take this opportunity to wish them every success in their next pathway in life. We really will miss them all!”

Tarporley Sixth Form is open to all students with suitable GCSE grades. Some places are available for the new academic year and students can sign up for courses on Tuesday 24 August or on Tuesday31 August.
