The Chester Grosvenor has announced the appointment of Gareth Jones the position of head chef at its La Brasserie restaurant.
A former sous chef at the hotel, Gareth has also occupied senior roles at Bodysgallen Hall and Spa and the Midland Hotel, where he oversaw the launch of Mr Cooper’s House and Garden.
Now returning to The Chester Grosvenor to run the La Brasserie kitchen, Gareth is delighted to have come full circle and returned to his hometown.
He said: “Fifteen years ago I built a relationship with The Chester Grosvenor when in the position of sous chef.
“So to return as head chef really is a fantastic opportunity.”
“La Brasserie presents a fantastic canvas on which to paint.
“It is a tremendously elegant space, with a history of culinary excellence and a wide-ranging, constantly evolving menu to get my teeth into.”
Nestled alongside the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, La Brasserie offers a relaxed Parisian-themed atmosphere, with black leather sofas, sleek granite tabletops and a hand-painted skylight.
Serving a range of light bites, as well as an ever-changing á la mode menu, Gareth is looking forward to putting his wide culinary repertoire to good use, having built something of a reputation in recent years via his monthly column in Cheshire Life Magazine.
