YEAR 10 and 11 pupils throughout the Chester, Ellesmere Port and north Wales area are being invited to a special careers evening to help them begin to explore their career futures.
West Cheshire College’s careers event will take place on Wednesday, May 5, at Chester Guildhall from 4pm to 8pm.
College Assistant Principal Sally Cracknell said: "We run a careers evening each autumn aimed at Year 11 and above but decided to run an additional one this summer focusing on Years 10 and 11.
"While we know the vast majority of young people aren’t ready to make decision about their future at this stage, it’s really important they have the chance to learn more about the wide range of options available to them as they prepare to leave high school.
"It will also be helpful to Year 11s who haven’t decided what they want to do after GCSEs."
Staff and students from a variety of the College curriculum areas will be on hand with exciting activities and to talk about the different courses on offer, including:
Art and Design
Building and Construction Services
Computing and IT
Engineering and Motor Vehicle
Fashion, Promotion and Retail
Forensics, Applied and Medical Science
Hairdressing, Beauty and Complementary Therapies
Health and Social Care
Hospitality and Catering
Media and Games Development
Performing Arts and Music
Travel and Tourism
Local employers and universities will also be sending representatives along including Unilever, the Army, the Navy and Manchester Metropolitan and Liverpool Hope universities.
There is no need to book a place, simply turn up at the Guildhall in Chester to explore your career paths to a successful future.
