PUPILS at a Chester school went back in time and whipped up traditional Tudor cuisine for parents and friends..
Year 3 pupils at Highfield Community Primary, Blacon, prepared and cooked a pottage as part of their half term topic work on the life and times of the Tudors.
Teaching assistant Jackie Holden arrived in authentic Tudor costume.
All the ingredients, including cabbage, celery, turnips and herbs were grown and taken from the school garden.
The kitchen capers of the youngsters were inspired by a trip to Little Moreton Hall near Congleton.
The school is also working in association with Let’s Get Cooking, a lottery-funded scheme to encourage cooking clubs.
