PROLIFIC fundraiser Billy Birch has handed over vital equipment to the Countess of Chester Hospital for the final time.
Billy, who has raised £75,000 for the hospital since 1990, presented staff in the A&E department with a new phlebotomy trolley.
Last month we revealed how the big-hearted fundraiser vowed never again to raise money for the Countess after receiving what he described as a 'hurtful' letter from hospital bosses.
He had claimed that equipment he collected cash for was not being ordered promptly.
But the hospital hit back by describing his attitude as 'not helpful'.
Fundraising manager Janet Ratcliffe said: 'As Billy has decided that he will no longer be able to carry on fundraising for us, I would like to take this opportunity of thanking him most sincerely for everything that he has done for the hospital over the years.
'It is very much appreciated and we wish Billy well for the future.'
Billy has vowed to carry on fundraising for other causes and is currently looking for a venue to hold a raffle.
He is also looking to auction four tickets to see popular TV show Countdown and an experience of a lifetime package supplied by Phones 4 U in the Port Arcades where you can choose to fulfil a dream such as skydiving or to race a motor car.
