WOMEN across Chester are being urged to get in the saddle as part of a two-day initiative called the Big Breeze Bike Ride.

British Cycling’s Breeze network is urging women across the city to get on their bikes and enjoy pedalling along the traffic-free paths by the River Dee.

The scheme is part of the UK’s biggest ever initiative to boost female cycling and aims to see hundreds of like-minded women up and down the country setting up local rides to share the two-wheeled fun.

Jill Puttnam, British Cycling’s national operations manager for recreational cycling, said: “The Big Breeze Bike Ride is for every woman, everywhere as it’s fun and informal.”
