YOUTHS in Tarvin have a place to practise their basketball skills thanks to new equipment in the village.
A hoop and mini football goal were installed on the King George V Playing Field and BiG Storage Cheshire Jets captain Calvin Davis came to officially unveil them.
Calvin, the 6ft 8ins Texan forward, worked his magic and enthralled his audience of youngsters with an impressive display of skill. He then invited the youngsters to a competition, challenging the first 10 to score and win a basketball.
They got an added bonus when Cheshire Jets director Peter Hawkins invited the village youth club to be guests at a game next season.
Pet Twigg, who runs the youth club, said: “This type of all-weather and multi-purpose facility is always popular and perfectly complements the existing amenities at the King George V playing field.
“The parish council would like to thank Chester City Council who part-funded the facility.”
