A BARTENDER is the cream of country life.
Alex Jones, 22, is UK Master Bartender 2007 and will represent Great Britain at the Bartender World Championships in New York.
Drinks connoisseur Alex will compete against 56 countries next month.
The Cock O’ Barton, Malpas is where Alex spent hours perfecting his skills and visitors can sample his perfect pints before he jets off on October 12 for the contest.
The competition, organised by Pilsner Urquell, tested 150 hopefuls on all areas of drink preparation.
The challenge, held at the Hospital Bar, London, saw Alex being tested on his drinks knowledge, his manner with customers and also an inspection of his beer-pouring technique.
Alex explained: ‘I was thrilled when I was announced as the 2007’s UK Master Bartender – it’s such a privilege to be representing the country at the finals in New York.’
Terry Murphy, from the Cock O’ Barton, added: ‘Alex has worked extremely hard to win the coveted title and the whole team wish him all the best for the world championship in October.’
