A NEW discount store has opened in Ellesmere Port, creating 35 jobs.
Blackpool-based retailer B&M Bargains has just moved into the old Littlewoods building in Marina Drive, more recently occupied on a temporary basis by Asda.
The company, established for more than 30 years, offers customers branded and unbranded goods at bargain prices.
A B&M Retail Ltd spokesperson said: 'We're proud to open our newest store in Ellesmere Port, creating 35 new jobs and the promise of terrific bargains across our full product range.
'The new store will bring to the town centre a wide selection of branded food, drinks, toys, health and beauty products and electrical and household goods at heavily discounted prices.'
B&M has on average 500 new lines coming into the business every week.
In a recent survey carried out by the industry journal The Grocer, the company had climbed to tenth in a table of the UK's largest independent grocers with an annual turnover of over £100m.
B&M have unveiled plans to open a further 25 stores by the end of 2007.
