IT WAS up, up and away when a village primary school rounded off its 50th anniversary celebrations.

All the fun of the fair marked the party at Huntington Community Primary where the headteacher is John Blythyn.

Balloons soared into the sky at the Butterbache Road school and everything from a carousel to a bouncy castle was on offer as the anniversary drew to a close.

Events have ranged from a golden spring following the planting of 1,000 daffodils to a grand reunion.

Bad weather failed to dampen spirits at a summer fair and garden party with visitors taking shelter under two marquees in the grounds to celebrate with a cream tea.

Pupils created a display chronicling the school’s history over the last five decades.
