A MAN walked away with minor injuries after surviving a plane crash.

The incident happened at about 2.35pm on Monday, when a light aircraft crashed in a field near Beeston.

The 64-year-old pilot, from Merseyside, was the only person aboard and escaped with minor injuries to his knee and hand.

The aircraft, described as a Rand KR-2, experienced technical difficulties and crashed into a field near Betty’s Lane, Beeston.

It sustained significant damage.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch was informed and cleared the wreckage from the field on Tuesday.
