3D CINEMA is coming to Chester thanks to the city’s one remaining big screen multiplex Cineworld.
Cineworld Chester is delighted to announce the installation of two state of the art 3D screens. This new addition follows the success of Cineworld’s roll out of 3D screens across 68 of its sites in 2009 across the UK.
In total, over 407 customers will be able to enjoy the impressive 3D technology at Cineworld Chester across the cinema’s screens 4 and 6.
The first film to be screened on the new 3D screens will be Alice In Wonderland followed by advance showings of How To Train Your Dragon on March 27, 28, 31 and April 1.
3D has been at the forefront of the film industry’s agenda over the last year and Cineworld has taken the lead by having one of the largest 3D estates in the UK.
Cineworld uses technology from RealD, the world leaders in 3D, in 150 of its digital screens enabling it to show 3D movies to over 40,000 customers at any one time.
The popularity of digital cinema has grown extensively in recent years, with 3D blockbuster hits including Disney’s Bolt, A Christmas Carol and not forgetting James Cameron’s Avatar which continues to break box office records.
General manager Michelle McClean said: “3D cinema is paving the way in film experience and we look forward to bringing this new and innovative way of enjoying cinema to customers of Cineworld Chester.
“We will be screening some brilliant films in 3D quality this year including Clash Of The Titans, Toy Story 3 and Shrek Forever After.”
