CHILDREN from Dee Point Primary School in Blacon were the first to see the new Tesco store on Sealand Road in Chester.
Thirty-two year six pupils donned hard hats and high visibility jackets to tour the site, accompanied by store manager Matthew France.
As an extra surprise, pupils were not only able to keep the safety jackets but they were presented with new kits for the school’s rugby and netball teams.
Tesco sponsored 15 rugby shirts and 15 complete sets of netball kit, including skirts and socks.
Deputy headteacher Mike Dixon said: “The children were able to see first hand how a store like this operates.
“It was a really enjoyable and informative tour, and we can’t wait to see how the teams perform next year in their new kits.”
