THE redevelopment of Chester’s tallest building, The Shot Tower has begun, developer Property Regeneration has announced.
The North West based developer, which specialises in regenerating redundant buildings into commercial and residential ventures, is beginning work after securing planning permission for an impressive canal side mixed-use scheme earlier this month.
Plans for the development include 33 one and two-bedroomed apartments as well as 27,000sqft of space, which will be allocated for offices, a café and other commercial use. Car parking, landscaping and an element of affordable housing will also be included.
Director, Gavin Raw, said: “The Shot Tower is of significant local and national importance, as it’s the only remaining historic shot tower in the UK.
“Now planning permission has been granted, we’re eager to put the wheels in motion on what will be one of our flagship developments.”
