DESPITE dealing in money matters all week, three team leaders from a Chester-based company took on a gruelling challenge, to raise cash for local terminally ill children.

Simon Smith and his M&S Money colleagues, Simon Robinson and Barry Griffiths, were challenged to cycle the 70 miles from Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry to its sister hospice, Ty Gobaith in Conwy.

“We try and do something for the community because the company generously match-funds everything we raise, which means we can now donate £700 to Hope House,” said Simon Smith, from Guilden Sutton.

Hope House and Ty Gobaith care for terminally ill children and their families from Cheshire, North and Mid Wales and Shropshire areas.

‘We left Hope House first thing in the morning and it took us five hours – in lycra and very cold weather – to get to Ty Gobaith,’ said Simon.

“We had a lovely welcome when we got there and had the chance to look round. It’s an amazing place and we hope to raise more money.”
