CHESTER Regis stylists prove they’re a cut above the rest as the salon manager heads to the Wella Trends Vision 2011 finals.

David Hurine and Zoe Chetwynd from Regis in Grosvenor Shopping Centre reached the top 12 placings as they clipped and coloured their way past more than 1,000 competitive hairdressers at the regional heats in Manchester.

David Hurine, manager of the Regis Chester branch, achieved a coveted third place prize and a £750 pair of scissors at the regional heats for his efforts at creating a hair style on the theme of Polaris, one of the four trends set by the Wella judges, and is now heading to the finals.

David said: “I am thrilled to be going forward to the national finals in London. Last year more than 3,000 stylists applied from across the UK so places are highly competitive, especially as the winners go forward to the Wella Professional International finals which will be held in New York later this year.”

David has time to brush up on his skills before he heads to the finals later this year and is hoping to come back to Chester with a trophy in hand.

David added: “Everyone at the salon is so supportive and really rooting for me to do both the store, and Chester, proud at the finals.Š It would be incredible if I won but even making it this far is a huge achievement.”
