A new Premier store and post office in Chester is making a big impact in the community.
The Edwards at Chester store, on Long Lane, Upton, held its official opening just before Christmas and serves north east Chester and surrounding areas.
On hand to celebrate the official opening was ex-Paralympian Anna Jackson, who also is a valued member of the post office staff at Edwards of Chester.
Anna is very proud of her sporting achievements, and was a very promising hockey player before a series of serious knee operations meant that she was no longer able to participate in any sports where running was involved.
Undaunted, Anna refocused on Paralympic basketball and very quickly made her way to the peak of the sport, eventually competing for team GB in the Sydney Paralympic games in 2000.
Anna was unfortunately not selected for the GB team that travelled to Beijing for the 2008 games and retired from international duties in 2008.
She has successfully competed in many international events during her 10-year career with the GB team, winning an astonishing 70 caps for her country.
The store is very proud to have Anna as a member of staff at Chester, and she is now channelling all that positive energy and drive into making Edwards a successful addition to Chester’s stores.
Edwards at Chester offers, along with a full range of postal services, fresh produce, a range of convenience items, frozen goods, newspapers and magazines and a wine and beer selection and is open seven days a week from 6am-10pm.
