Sam Quek was the ninth celebrity to leave the I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle.

The former Chester Hockey Club player and Olympic gold medallist made it to the semi final and was in the last four, but left the camp on Saturday (December 3).

The 28-year-old chatted to Ant and Dec before being reunited with her family and friends after 22 days.

Sam said: “I’m so nervous and so happy, I never expected to get this far.

“It’s been an unbelievable year, to end 2016 like this has been surreal, I’m so humbled, everyone who has voted I can’t thank them enough.

“I just wanted to get hockey on the map and to inspire people and young kids.

“It was a lot tougher than I expected down there. I’ve learnt lessons about myself its been crazy but I’ve loved every minute.

“I’m still scared of critters, but I’ve got much better, I won’t freak out about spiders anymore.”

Sam also said she wanted Adam Thomas, who is in the final alongside Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett, to be crowned king of the jungle.

In tonight’s episode Sam said her worst moment was the fright at the museum challenge: “I was so petrified, I remembered jumping out and bursting into tears.

“To come off the back of winning the Olympic gold into this has been incredible. Another highlight for me was the jungle arms, I haven’t cried with laughter like that for a long time.”
