Chester Races Boodles May Festival may have kicked off yesterday at a sun-drenched Roodee but today is the day for the fashionistas to take centre stage.

Ladies Day is a popular date in the Chester racing season and the fashion stakes are high. They say that in order to get ahead you need a hat and Debbie Grogan, of Whitchurch, certainly had a spring in her step with her poppy-inspired creation to match her beautiful ivory and red dress.

The men never like to be outdone and Phil Storer was keen to have his outfit recorded for posterity.

Phil Storer was a bit miffed all the ladies were getting the attention so here's one of him in his finery

But it will be down to the ladies to strut their stuff to be in with a chance of winning some beautiful jewellery in the ChloBo Best Dressed Ladies’ Day competition.
