The Mothers' Union has said a big thank you to all the children, parents, carers and families who joined in their fun and activities in the sunshine at Chester Cathedral gardens.

They also wish to thank sixth form students at Bishops' High School for entertaining everyone with an acoustic guitar and vocal performance of songs.

As well as having fun, people could also have a look at displays showing how Mothers' Union has grown to be an international family and the work they do in the local community.

They have sent local families on holidays to the seaside, provided much appreciated crèche facilities at the Cheshire Show, offered advice and training to parents, supported families of prisoners and provided caps and blankets to the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital with trauma teddies for children.

The union regularly supports refugees and relief funding and recently sent £5,000 to their branches in South Sudan to support women and children.
