Local talent will once again make its mark on the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park from July 23-27.

As part of RHS Tatton Park's enticing Elements themed conceptual gardens, local designer Michael Vinsun presents his own interpretation of earth, wind, fire and water.

The Element Garden will be based on an upland garden with local kerridge stone forming a central ‘wall' feature breaking down into a waterfall.

Planting is themed on one side utilising the colours red and yellow associated with fire, while on the opposite side, earth is represented with native wild flowers, grasses and mosses predominating.

The backdrop to the garden will then be formed of large sycamores typical of uplands and birch.

Running through the garden, particularly over the stone wall, will be sculptural representations of wind.

Within the show gardens category this year is My Garden, by Cheshire exhibitor LiveWire CIC, who took inspiration from the gardens of tenants of Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT).

The idea behind their creation is to encourage people into horticulture by developing a garden, particularly for those on a budget, as a place to relax, spend time with the family and grow crops.

Chester Zoo will also represent their county with the threatened islands of South East Asia, the focal point of which is an abandoned South East Asian Buddhist temple which has been taken over by exotic looking plants.

A small boat can be seen emerging from the dense vegetation on the river that flows to the temple which symbolises the voyage of discovery that visitors to the zoo's new £30m Islands project will experience when it opens in 2015.

Also exhibiting among the vast local talent within the show gardens will be Clive Scott Garden Design's Summer Breeze, depicting a hazy meadow with grasses and perennials, with a hammock in the centre.

While Peaks and Plains Housing Trust and Dragonfly Garden Design have created a garden, in support of East Cheshire Hospice, epitomising the concept that life is a garden path.

The floral marquee is another hotbed of local talent, with beautiful displays of fuchsias on offer from Bromac Nursery, and late summer perennials and grasses from Bluebell Cottage Gardens, as well as a range of ornamental grasses in pots courtesy of K & S Nurseries.

Fry's Roses will also show the best of their blooms, while Harts Nursery's lilies, the latest cut flower bloom and sprays from Chrysanthemums Direct and many more will be showcasing the county's best blooms.

Local talent within the National Plant Societies will be Tatton Garden Society's Heavens Above! inspired by the life and interests of Sir Bernard Lovell.

This exhibit will feature the best selection of annuals, hardy herbaceous plants, perennial plants, trees and shrubs available.

With all these and many more regional exhibitors, the intriguingly themed Elements conceptual gardens, and an array of gorgeous exhibits over the four zones of Inspire, Escape, Feast and Grow, visitors are sure to have a great day out at this year's RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

The Tatton Park Flower Show was first held in 1999 in the grounds of a National Trust estate that contains one of the most famous historic gardens in Cheshire.

One of its distinctive features has been a competition for the best bedding scheme by a municipal authority.
