There was success on the river for Chester rowing clubs at last weekend’s Runcorn Regatta.

Crews from Grosvenor Rowing Club and Queen’s Park High School Rowing Club were in action on the River Weaver, with several returning home clutching medals.

Unique in its format, the round-robin races at the Runcorn Regatta are held over two 300m sprint courses.

There was success for two Grosvenor boats with the WJ154x+ crew of Lucy Tilston, Francis Munro, Zoe Green, Stella Dixon and Jack Green (cox) rowing to victory whilst Tilston went on to win another gold medal in the WJ151x individual event.

Dixon and Green also got a silver medal in the WJ152x event with Tilston and Munro claiming the bronze.

There were a further three bronze medals with Dixon adding to her personal haul in the WJ151x, Ben Whyman in the J151x and Sophie Morris in the W.J141x events.

For Queen’s Park, Charlie Birchall-Jones and Henry Dougherty in the J13X2 double won gold as did Emily Cox in the W.JX1 singles.

Cox, alongside Amy Williamson, added to her success with a further gold  in the W.JX2 doubles.

Morgan Whitley won a silver in the J13 X1 singles and a bronzes for Cameron Neil and Jack Davies in the J13X2 doubles and Will Davies, Jack Davies, Whitley, Dougherty and cox Williamson followed in the J13X4+ quads category.
