Port went into the break 26-10 down, their own points coming from a penalty by Chris Carbutt and a try from centre Pete Doyle, converted by Carbutt.

Despite having the advantage of the wind at their backs for the second half, Port failed to register a single point.

Ruskin Park piled on the points and ran out clear winners.

Port are away to Moore this Saturday.

Ellesmere Port 2nds ran out 42-7 winners at Port Sunlight in the Wirral Merit League.

The result leaves them second on the table.

Port’s under 16s side travelled to New Brighton with just 12 players due to a combination of the half-term break, injuries and illness. With the teams evened up, Port won a tough contest 17-12.
