YOUNGSTERS lined up for a relay race held in honour of Paula Radcliffe.

Keeping up with Paula, a Frodsham Games event held to celebrate the achievements of the former Kingsley Community Primary School pupil, gave clubs the chance to demonstrate just how fast Radcliffe was running when she set a new British and Commonwealth 3,000m record at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

The club teams were made up of boys and girls of primary school age who covered the distance in a sequence of 50m stages.

The event was won by Radcliffe's former club, Halton and Frodsham Harriers, who completed the distance in a time just 16 seconds slower than Radcliffe's.

Other events in the Frodsham Games, which was held at Frodsham Community Centre, included a series of challenges based on Scottish Highland Games.

In the Highland steps under 15s girls section, Harriers celebrated a double success with Charlotte Reiser taking first place and Katie Baker coming second, while in the U13 category Amy Wright also took second place.

In the caber U11 girls event, Harriers enjoyed a triple success courtesy of Amy Pearson, Holly Weatherall and Hannah Clement while in the U11 girls Highland steps Amber Schofield, Martha Cottrell and Amy Pearson were also in the top three.

Joe Woolf took top spot for the Harriers in the boys U11 Highland steps and Will Fletcher (50.8) emerged triumphant in the boys U7 300m round the field race.
