Montez-Brown was awarded a coveted scholarship at Augustana last year and has been in impressive form for the NCAA Division Two school, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, since arriving last year.

A hugely talented all-rounder, Montez-Brown, whose father David hails from America, represented England at the World Schools Championships in 2013 and was ranked third in the UK for the under 20s 80m hurdles heading into her freshman year at Augustana.

The talented 20-year-old from Great Sutton won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) pentathlon title back in February, just five weeks on from arriving in Sioux Falls.

Montez-Brown, ranked 15th in America in the heptathlon, also celebrated being named the NSIC Newcomer of the Year and Indoor Newcomer of the Year following a stellar debut campaign.

The former West Cheshire AC star was last year named Ellesmere Port Sporting Champion at the 2015 Trinity Mirror Your Champions Awards.
