FIGHTERS from Deva Police ABC recorded impressive victories in front of a full house at Saltney Social Club.

Due to late withdrawals, only three senior contests were able to take place with Ash Appleby, Adam Gumati and Mark Sullivan all in action.

After being pushed all the way in their bouts 21-year-old Appleby and Gumati, 19, both gained majority verdicts over their opponents from Skelmersdale and Shotton, adding to their growing reputation.

Twenty-six-year-old Sullivan was unlucky to lose out by way of a majority verdict against his Dyffryn opponent, Rowlands, in a fight which could have gone either way.

In what was another successful night for the Saltney-based club there were convincing victories for Deva fighters Connor Beattie, Sam Rigg and Jack Cruise.

Deva’s Joe Rigg lost his unbeaten record – despite having boxed well – against Middleton Selects – Bailey in a hard fought bout decided by a majority verdict.

Jack Rogers also lost out in his fight, falling to a contentious majority verdict after a very hard fought bout.

Guests on the evening included Manchester-based hot prospect Rhys ‘Pure Silk’ Roberts and ex-Chester City footballer John Evans.
