ALICE McMahon helped fire West Cheshire AC to a third successive match victory in the Northern Track and Field League.

The talented sprinter bounced back from the disappointment of being just one hundredth of a second away from qualifying for the English Schools senior girls 100m final at Birmingham to record an impressive sprint double at Litherland.

McMahon clocked 12.3 seconds to win the 100m and then produced an emphatic 200m victory of 25.5 seconds.

She was backed up by club-mate Shona Valentine, who secured B 100m and 200m successes in times of 13.2 and 27.0 seconds respectively.

Bryony Potter celebrated a 400m win of 60.9 seconds, while Victoria Anderson (16.0) and Danielle Erskine (17.4) provided successes in the 100m hurdles.

Nicola Gore (36.77m) teamed up for victory in the discus with Emily Ball (35.66m), and then provided back-up in the shot (9.25m) for Kelly Baker (10.81m).

Sophie Percival (36m) and Niamh Reilly (28.12m) secured success in the javelin, while Danielle Erskine (5.38m) and Victoria Anderson (5.23m) teamed up for a double victory in the long jump, and Megan McEveley won the B triple jump with 8.92m.

McMahon, Erskine, Valentine and Baker concluded their appearances by teaming up to earn West Cheshire AC a winning time of 50.9 seconds in the 4x100m relay.

Andrew Clague (10:52.8) and Mark Davies (11:52.3) secured maximum points from the 3,000m steeplechase, and Tom Booth (18.9) and Dave McKay (19.1) ensured a double victory in the 110m hurdles.

Niall Harrison won the B 400m hurdles in 65.8 seconds, while Richard Stocker powered himself to success in the B hammer (34.87m) and B shot (11.55m) as the West Cheshire success story continued.

Tom Booth catapulted himself to a B win in the pole vault (2.10m).
