Golborne Sports 5 Malpas 3
MALPAS’ first competitive match since December 6 saw them go down to the Division Two leaders on Saturday.
The hosts took the lead on the half-hour mark and doubled it five minutes later.
After 42 minutes Jack Oakden broke down the left and delivered a cross into the box where Simon Bradley applied the finishing touch to make it 2-1.
After the break Malpas conceded two more goals within 10 minutes.
Richard Desmond then played Oakden through for a left-footed strike for 4-2 and Edward Barlow rifled a 25-yarder in off the crossbar, making it 4-3.
But 10 minutes from time Golborne scored their fifth to kill off the resistance.
Lostock Gralam 3 Tarporley Vics 2
VICS returned empty-handed from their trip to title rivals Lostock.
The hosts went into half-time 2-0 up after Vics’ Al Moore had a goal disallowed on 10 minutes.
Andy Clacher was introduced in the second half by Vics and made an instant impact. Henry Buckley powered a shot which was parried into the path of Clacher to halve the deficit.
Buckley then struck the equaliser from another rebound and, with 17 minutes remaining, it was anybody’s game.
Lostock took the points, however, on 82 minutes when keeper Callum Reckless came for a corner and missed, allowing the hosts’ forward to pick his spot in the unguarded net.
