FT Boreham Wood 0 Chester FC 0
That’s it. No goals, not much entertainment but a point is a good result and the Blues now have back-to-back home games, presenting an excellent opportunity to climb the table.
Squeaky bum!
Jon Worsnop gets away with one as a powerful strike from Junior Morais bounces up off the surface and squirms through his grasp but he has time to recover.
Chances at both ends
Craig Hobson gets a diving header in at one end before Charlie MacDonald stings Worsnop’s palms at the other. MacDonald has been replaced with Junior Morais.
Sitter missed!
Boreham Wood should be in front. Ben Heneghan has been excellent this half but he gets a clearance wrong and Vilhete gets in on goal but taps straight at Worsnop.
Under pressure
Boreham Wood are on top now and Ben Heneghan has made three vital interventions. Blues need to get back into this.
Instant impact
Jeffrey straight into the thick of things as he tees up Ricky Shakes but his shot is blocked and Blues escape.
Double change
Chester switch things around with Craig Mahon and Jordan Chapell replacing James Roberts and Calum Dyson.
Chance for Wood
Mauro Vilhete remains a threat and he curls a shot wide of Jon Worsnop’s far post.
Warning signs
Boreham Wood are getting a grip on things now with Mauro Vilhete causing problems on the left wing. Blues can’t afford to go behind.
Off the line!
Rooney goes close direct from a corner as he cross beats everyone except Danny Woodards as he hooks the ball clear.
Second-half
We’re back underway as Boreham Wood start the second period with the game still goalless.
National League table: As it stands
Another 45 minutes to go but here’s how it looks so far.
The goals are flying in
Including the early kick-off where Altrincham won 3-1 at Bromley, 27 goals have gone in around the National League. None at Meadow Park, mind.
Goals galore
It may be 0-0 between Boreham Wood and the Blues but it’s pretty breathless stuff at The Shay.
Half-time view
Chester will be a touch disappointed with how they have been unable to get a grip on this game, although the weather and a greasy surface have been big factors in that. The front three hasn’t clicked as Steve Burr would have hoped with Ross Hannah looking out of sorts and Calum Dyson finding it a tough slog. On the positive side, Tom Shaw and Luke George are battling hard in midfield and the back four have defended well enough.

Not the best half of football. Conditions are difficult and both teams finding it tough. Calum Dyson has had the best chance for the Blues.
Should be behind
Boreham Wood waste a fantastic chance to go ahead. MacDonald does well to find room for a cross and Ricky Shakes drags his attempt wide.
Hearts in mounts for Wood fans
There’s a sniff of goal for James Roberts as a David Stephens back pass looks to be short but keeper James Russell rushes out to clear.
Poor half
Neither team have really adapted to the conditions leading to a scrappy game of few chances.
