LIVERPOOL Under-18s will look to bounce back when they entertain Sunderland at the Academy on Saturday (12.30pm).
Steve Cooper’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolves last weekend on their return to the Academy Premier League following their trip to Qatar for the Al-Kass Cup. Cooper said: “It was a hard-fought match on a difficult pitch and I think we found it hard to get our passing game going. We created enough chances to win the game, but we didn’t take them and if you don’t take your chances then you can’t expect to take anything from the game.
“We gave Wolves a chance and we would like to be more clinical in future. That said, the boys worked hard and there were some mature perform-ances out there. We’ll re-group and go again against Sunderland.”
Cooper’s side take on Leeds in FA Youth Cup fifth round at Anfield next Thursday (KO 7pm).
