George Thomson have moved FC United of Manchester on a month's loan from Chester FC.

The 23-year-old has been out of favour in recent weeks and has not featured in the National League since being substituted at Southport on October 13.

Attacking midfielder Thomson could make his FC United debut in this weekend's trip to Nuneaton Town.

He becomes the third player to leave the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium on loan in quick succession after Sam Hughes and Tom Peers joined Witton Albion and Salford City respectively.

Thomson, 23, impressed in a trial last summer and eventually signed from Kings Lynn Town in January on a short-term deal.

The ex-Nottingham Forest trainee netting two goals in his eight appearances and his performances earned him a new 12-month contract in May.

However, he has failed to score in 12 league games this term, although seven of those appearances have been as a substitute.

Thomson, who spent time at the Glenn Hoddle Academy after leaving Forest, moved to Kings Lynn from Histon in 2012 having had spells at Jerez Industrial and Hinckley United. He scored 37 goals in 111 games for the Norfolk club.
