Airbus UK Broughton welcome Bangor City to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium tomorrow (7.30pm) with Andy Preece’s men seeking to move on from the contentious 2-1 bank holiday defeat at Bala Town.

The Wingmakers dominated possession for much of the contest at Maes Tegid but fell behind to a goal against the run of play and then, having seemingly secured themselves a more than deserved share of the spoils, lost out to a late and debatable penalty.

On the half hour and despite being second best, the Lakesiders took the lead. Ashley Williams conceded a free kick just outside the box when he brought down Sheridan and Mark Connolly’s free-kick was fired home by Anthony Stephens.

Airbus created a number of chances with Ryan Wade hitting the post, Ryan Fraughan curling wide and Chris Budrys going close with a header.

Bala keeper Ashley Morris made a superb flying save from Tony Gray’s header but the ex-Chester FC striker was not to be denied, firing home from close range three minutes from time.

A point appeared to be in the bag until Smith was adjudged to have been brought down in the box and Stephens completed his brace from the penalty spot to seal the three points.

Airbus hope to secure a second win of the season from tomorrow’s game with Bangor, who lost 2-1 at home to Port Talbot Town at the weekend. Lee Owens and Ricky Evans are pushing for starts while James Murphy will be in contention after a lively appearance off the bench against Bala.
