CHOLMONDELEY signalled they are returning to top form with a convincing win at Malpas on Saturday.

After a strong start, captain Guy Ford and his men fell off the pace in recent weeks. But their six-wicket win in the Meller Braggins League Division One showed they are back on track.

Malpas batted first, posting 125 all out against the increasingly impressive Cholmondeley bowling attack, spearheaded by Richard Cooke (3-28) and Neil Thompson (2-23) and backed by Daniel Morris and Andrew Latham who got two apiece.

In reply, Hayden Holloway (45) and Ford (60no) were impressive as they helped their side to 126-4.

In Division Three, WISTASTON have slipped to second from bottom after suffering another defeat.

Batting first, the Villagers were dismissed for just 84 after recovering from losing six for just 38 run. Top scorers Steve Barnes, Keith Thornhill and James Hogben all made 18.

Opponents Chelford replied with 87-5 (Hogben 2-31, Keith Thornhill 2-6).
