A THEATRE company is delivering a play about pupils behaving badly on the school bus at Neston High School.

The Riot Act Theatre Company performed to groups of Year 7 pupils this week.

The play is designed to help them consider how their behaviour can affect others around them.

Arranged and funded by the council’s Integrated Transport Service, the theatre performances are part of a number of initiatives to improve behaviour and safety on school buses.

Following the play an interactive workshop will take place, where pupils discuss the impact of each character’s behaviour and how peer pressure sometimes plays a big part in the decisions students make.

Cllr Mark Stocks, executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “A workshop after the production involving the three actors reinforces to pupils how making positive choices in the ways they behave can have a far-reaching impact.

“We have brought this play back for another year following positive feedback from schools that the play has had a very positive impact on pupils who enjoy this style of learning and understand the messages it is working to get across.”
