PLANS for 2,000 new homes in Little Sutton will be put to the public this month.
Residents are invited to contribute to plans for new homes and neighbourhood facilities planned by developer Redrow Homes.
Redrow is holding a ‘view and comment’ event at Little Sutton Community Centre on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24, for people to have their say on the proposed development of land south of Ledsham Road.
Part of the site has already been allocated for housing within the Local Plan and the remainder has been earmarked for future development beyond 2011.
The land has potential for about 2,000 new homes and Redrow is also keen to provide amenities that will enhance the existing community.
Victoria Murray, senior planning manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We very much want to explore with local people some of the benefits that this scheme could bring for them and to find out their priorities before we draw up a formal planning application to be considered by the local authority.”
Following the public consultation event Redrow will look to bring forward a formal planning application in spring 2012.
The ‘view and comment’ event will take place from 2-7pm on Friday, September 23 and from 9am-12noon on Saturday, September 24, at Little Sutton Community Centre in Chester Road, Little Sutton.
