YOUNG dancer Joel Montague has proved himself a star in the making after finishing fourth in the All England Championships.
Joel, 14, who lives at Coppenhall, qualified for the national event in Leicester after winning first place in the tap and song and dance sections in the West Midland heats in October.
It was the first time the pupil at the Yvonne School of Dancing in Flag Lane, Crewe, had entered a competition at this level and his aunt and teacher Yvonne Chesters said: 'There was such strong competition and Joel was one of the youngest.
'We are all very proud of him and hope there will be more pupils from the school taking part and reaching his standard in the future.
'He is an extremely bright and talented young performer and he realises that hard work and determination is the key to success.'
Joel recently took away an armful of trophies at the Nuneaton and Birmingham Dance Festival as well as earning student teacher status.
Yvonne added: 'His ambition is to be the next Gene Kelly and has been dancing ever since he was just 14 months old.
'He toddled into one of the classes one day and never looked back.'
