A FAMILY of volunteers have collected hundreds of pounds for Marie Curie Cancer Care in Ellesmere Port.

Julie Perry, chairman for the Ellesmere Port Marie Curie Fundraising Group, received help from three-year-old daughter Olivia.

Julie’s sister Helen Johnson took along 12-week-old baby Jessica, who proved a hit with shoppers donating.

Julie and Helen’s dad was looked after by nurses from the charity.

She said: “Dad had motor neurone disease and needed round-the-clock care for several months. The nurses were so brilliant.”

Having collected at Sainsbury’s and Asda this month, the volunteers will be collecting donations and distributing daffodils at Port Arcades this weekend.
