KIND-HEARTED Chester FC fans turned the Exacta Stadium into a sea of pink and raised £6,216 for charity.

The club’s second Think Pink Day in aid of the breast care unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital proved a huge success as it smashed the £3,300 raised at last season’s inaugural event.

Fans left their traditional blue-and-white colours at home and donned pink T-shirts, jumpers, scarves and wigs.

The more daring supporters dyed their hair pink, with some even wearing pink tights and tutus.

Bucket collections and a post-match auction of the one-off pink shirts worn by the players alone raised more than £3,000.

Funds were also generated from the sale of limited-edition pin badges and Think Pink T-shirts, and a sponsored leg wax involving goalkeeper John Danby and director Mark Howell.
