Schoolchildren at Elton Primary School have been learning about money and business at the school’s recent Enterprise Week.

Over the week the pupils learned about how to become an entrepreneur and set up their own business.

Mark Manning and daughter Vicki from Regal Pawn in Sealand, Flintshire, visited the school to give a talk on their family business.

The duo spoke to students about how they started their shop and how it now appears on television in 196 countries on the History Channel’s Pawn Stars UK programme.

The children have also been doing their own market research and are taking part in Virgin Money’s Fiver Challenge.

The UK-wide scheme encourages children to become entrepreneurs by giving them £5 and encouraging them to make a profit using the start-up cash.

Headteacher Victoria Carr said: “The children really enjoyed their visit from Regal Pawn and asked lots of very good questions. It made a good start for our Enterprise Week.”
