SPORTY fundraisers are urged to step out for charity.

The Shell Chester half marathon, in aid of Scope, is now taking entries.

The event, on May 16, is organised by West Cheshire Athletics Club and sponsored by Shell UK.

It starts at 9.30am at Chester Racecourse and will see more than 2,000 runners pounding the streets toward Eccleston and Pulford before heading back to the city centre and ending back at the Racecourse.

West Cheshire Athletics Club chairman Dennis Wall said: “Together with our sponsors Shell UK, this year we’ve chosen to support Scope and the valuable work it does with disabled people in our local community.

“As well as making a donation to Scope from race entry fees, we hope that runners will choose to raise additional funds through their personal sponsorship.”

Entrants must be aged 18 or over. Enter online at www.westcheshireac.co.uk/roadracing/halfmarathon.
