BAKER Phil Lancelotte has been honoured for his 30 years of service to a local charity.

His dedication to Wrexham Phab – Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied Club – has earned him an award from his employers at the Village Bakery in Minera.

Phil, 46, has been named as the company’s first Village Hero, an award set up to recognise effort or contribution by any of the 185 employees.

As a result, the Village Bakery is giving £250 to the Phab Club, which aims to integrate the handicapped and able bodied, and Phil will receive a prize of £100.

Phil, from Coedpoeth, a baker for 24 years, became a voluntary leader, joining in all the games and activities with the children and adults who attend the club from a wide area. The club meets every week and members also go on day trips.
