THE Chronicle is searching for the unsung heroes and heroines of our community in our Your Champions awards.
Trinity Mirror Cheshire – publisher of this newspaper – has once again joined forces with ScottishPower to host Your Champions 2011, an exciting venture which lets us pay tribute to those who make a difference in our area.
This is your chance to help us highlight the good work of an individual, a group which has benefited the community or recognise how someone has made life just a little better, eased someone’s burden, brightened the environment or carried out a single act of courage.
This year there is a new category of Champion Volunteer, to honour an individual who has worked quietly for years to help a charity.
Your Champions has been recognising community heroes and heroines since 1988 and we want you to tell us who should receive the red-carpet treatment this year.
The closing date for entries is Friday, October 14. Judging will take place soon afterwards, then our local winners will be announced in the Chronicle.
Our heroes and heroines will be honoured at a presentation ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester, on Friday, November 18, when they will also be in the running for a regional champion of champions award with local winners from our Cheshire, Wirral and Flintshire newspapers.
Once again Trinity Mirror Cheshire is delighted to be linking up with ScottishPower – both companies are committed to supporting local communities.
To nominate someone, complete the form in the paper or visit www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/yourchampions2011.
