A road traffic collision involving several vehicles on the M56 eastbound between junctions 15 and 14 near Hapsford is causing severe disruption this morning (Tuesday, December 16).
Police are at the scene dealing with the incident, which was reported to them at around 9am.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said five vehicles are believed to be involved.
Two lanes of the eastbound carriageway are blocked and there is queuing traffic.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
