WINE lovers can raise a glass to help eradicate a crippling disease and help poverty stricken people across the world.

The Rotary Club of Frodsham and Helsby will be holding its annual wine tasting evening on Saturday.

Residents are being invited to the Parish Hall, Church Street, Frodsham, to try fine wines and find out more about their favourite tipples.

Part of Rotary’s Thanks for Life programme, the evening hopes to raise funds towards the eradication of polio, which has been a major goal for the Rotary movement for the past 25 years.

With the target date for collecting this year’s funds fast approaching members of the Rotary Club will be hitting the high streets and supermarkets in Frodsham and Helsby to collect donations before heading to the wine tasting event in the evening.

The annual wine tasting evening will be held at the Parish Hall, Church Street, Frodsham from 7pm on Saturday February 25. Tickets are available from Ian Tickle on Main Street, Frodsham, costing £12.50 each.
